Amtrak Is Currently Going Above And Beyond In Its Construction To Improve The Northeast Corridor Route

Amtrak continues to hit impressive milestones. Among the most recent include hitting a record-breaking number for guest rewards users with over 20 million members enrolled. In addition, Amtrak hit a record ridership number for the 2024 fiscal year, hitting 32.8 million riders.
Another milestone was hit during the Susquehanna River Bridge project. Amtrak just posted the latest developments on its website, and it seems like the project is going to plan, and then some...

The Susquehanna River Rail Bridge
Working alongside Flatiron/Herzog Joint Ventures as the Construction Manager at Risk contractor along with two additional contracts to AECOM and Fay Construction, Amtrak has just completed the early stages of its major repairs to Susquehanna River Bridge. According to Amtrak's website, the ongoing construction just hit a milestone, removing the 10th and final remnant pier from the river. Before starting the construction of its two new bridges, this was an essential step.

Amtrak Just Added Other Upgrades To The Northeast Corridor Acela
The hype for Amtrak's new Acela is already here, set to debut in 2025. The trip from D.C. to Boston is about to get a serious electric upgrade.
