1. Amtrak Needs A Lot More Infrastructure And Equipment

Amtrak needs a lot more infrastructure and equipment. On or along the Northeast Corridor, Amtrak needs another bore or two under the Hudson River, as well as replacements for some of its aged catenary between NYC and Washington. Also, many of those bridges have been in place for over a century and could probably stand to be replaced.

Amtrak could also use new cars and locomotives for use in their corridors and outside them. A lot of people don't ride some of the more popular Amtrak long-distance trains because there aren't enough cars for them to ride in.

One of Amtrak's major problems is the mindset of the Elephant Party. Along with its professed love for so-called "private enterprise" (Or at least private corporations with craftily-hidden subsidies), the GOP has chosen to govern like a third-world kleptocracy.
