1. Yes, it does

Several reasons:
1) The MIC needs war to get rid of loads of bullets and bombs so they can sell their whizz-bang replacements. And the MIC encompasses a lot, especially now that stuff like feeding and clothing the army has been outsourced.

2) Politicians like war because it gets rid of the surplus population of useless eaters (only the plebs die), benefits their MIC backers and let's them give rousing speeches and appear strong and purposeful by, say, landing on an aircraft carrier beneath a "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" banner.

3) Media like war because it spikes their ratings and let's their reporters look all brave and dynamic.

4) And the middle-class likes war because it gets rid of the useless eaters and gives them sexy war footage to take their minds off their troubles.
