Weren't the high school kid in his first job, despite the trope of the people against raising the minimum wage, it was the 30 year old, 40 year old, on up because wages were being kept down by all the industries. People being told they were "lucky" to have a job. Employees were told, if you don't like the job, quit and get a new one. Well, now the epidemic has changed the playing field and the people who were working there now are finding jobs that pay more and they don't have to breathe that grease their whole shift. So things have a little more balance. Management has almost complete control too long.

I first started working at 14, but then it was a family dry cleaning establishment and the owner was pretty protective of me and she kind of treated me like a relative because she knew my parents.
