But I can't honestly say I understand how this impacts ordinary Americans or typical investors. It could put pressure on the Treasury. What if Trump had to raise taxes on all us non-billionaires following a complete wipeout of Bitcoin?

This won't happen, but imagine a bill tripling the tax bill of everyone making less than $100,000 a year. At least then even the dumbest among us would understand the oligarchy we have given unlimited powers to.
