(53,661 posts)5. Glad to hear it. A few years back I was living in a similar place here but the power was out. It was
just getting miserable. The winter gales had taken out of lot of lines. I did what most people did, hit the shopping strip stores and stayed warm in my vehicle and the stores.
Since it was right before Xmas, it was somewhat enjoyable. Sort of one mass party of people who would have been home at night otherwise. I had to charge up my cellphone in the vehicle, and was I ever glad when the power came back on.
I live in a place now where the power is restored very quickly and most of it is underground. Still, things happen.
