In the age of Trump, conventional wisdom probably doesn’t apply. How many hard core Trumpers will vote for Republicans that they consider “weak” for not helping Trump more? Younger voters hate the Republicans, and in 2022 they’ll be older and eager not to repeat 2016 - 2020.

I’d say Democrats have a good chance to actually expand their margins in both houses.
