Even has similar functionality to LINQ

C# was supposed to eliminate the need for C++.
Silverlight was supposed to eliminate the need for Flash.
HTML 5 is supposed to eliminate the need for Silverlight and Flash.
.Net and Mono was supposed to kill Java.
.Net's Garbage Collector was supposed to eliminate application memory leaks.
PowerShell was supposed to eliminate VBScript and Windows Scripting Host.

Nothing is really ever eliminated. New technology borrows the best of older technology.
There is so much Objective-C code out there...it won't go away for a long time.
