3. May I suggest...

Based on my living in Bath for about 5 years (right in the city centre) I have two suggestions for you:

1) The Marlborough tavern - slightly pricey, but worth the visit. You NEED to make a reservation a couple of weeks in advance. Take a taxi as parking is sparse.

2) The Pig and Fiddle - affordable and a bit earthy with nice local flavour/colour. You can park at the Waitrose car park around the corner. It’s a fixture. Not sure if they still serve a Sunday roast so best check first. Still, visit for a pint or 3.

3) bonus - if you want a fab Italian meal (and local Italian restaurants are disappearing in the U.K.) try cafe Rustico. Tell Franco or Darix that that crazy American and his Dutch wife recommended
It. They will take care of you. Best food in bath. Trust me.

Currently Bath has a lot of shop fronts closed up due to excessive rents. It’s still lovely (typical Brit response when I mention I lived in Bath, “Oh, Bath is lovely!”)

I hope you enjoy it! It’s LOVELY!
