Peter Costello to audit Queensland finances

Howard's World's Greatest Treasurer(undeclared) is to audit Queensland finances and make suggestions for 'decades to come' . Apparently he will spend two days a week working on this project(extra long weekend). You would think there would need to be more urgency to find solutions to a the economy then this pedestrian report. First report due by June. But this from the man that Paul Keating said had "been in a hammock for 10 years" and called him "the laziest, most indolent, most unimaginative treasurer in postwar history".

Shock, Costello will find that Queensland under Labor is a basket case(BTW the jury is out on this point so far). He probably won't mention that it may have been worse if not for the asset sales.
