it's always been very pro-Trump. Cruz beat him in 2016, of course, but Trump still got more than a quarter of the vote, in a state where conservative voters are often quite hostile to outsiders and the Northeast.

I live in a very blue district - about 60/40 Dem - and the Trump presence is still very palpable.

I think it's probably not that high. Crossover votes are almost always more hype than reality, with a couple of notable exceptions (Liz Cheney in WY, etc.)
