As if the impeachment trial of Attorney General Ken Paxton didnt have enough scandal, his attorney, Tony Buzbee, had to go and invent tan-gate. In an Instagram post, Buzbee accused reputable news organizations of doctoring photos of him to make his tan appear orange. His Oompa Loompa hue stood out to us, too, and Buzbee probably deserved the vengeance of a few journalists after his opening argument seemed to blame all of Paxtons alleged indiscretions on the misleading messengers in the media. But we dont think photography editors had time to cook Buzbees complexion since they were so busy trying to snap a quick pic of catch-me-if-you-can Paxton before he fled from the Senate floor after his required initial appearance. What to make of the discrepancies in skin tone in various images? Some blamed the Senates odd lighting and deep green furnishings. When asked later which media organization he was accusing, Buzbee said he didnt know and hed moved on. I can see myself in the mirror. And I can see the pics sent to me by multiple people asking me to use sunscreen. Thats really all there is to it, he told the Houston Chronicle. Our theory is that exertion played a part in Buzbees fresh-out-the-panini-press look as he strenuously worked to defend actions of the attorney general that to many, are indefensible.
