and not give up his previous control. The holdup has been partly due to the issue of scheduling special elections to get our full complement of elected (D) officials in there in a timely fashion, which he was trying to delay and torpedo (and that finally got settled in the courts, with the latest opinion only happening this past Friday).

Rozzi (or whichever (D) would have taken over) was already going to be pushing against some pretty stiff headwinds due to the GOP truly being that shell-shocked at having lost control of that chamber after a decade.
