Jailed central Pa. nurse must pay patient $90K for filming her while she was unconscious and naked, U.S. judge rules
A federal judge has ordered a former central Pennsylvania emergency room nurse, Michael Bragg of Chambersburg, to pay $90,000 in damages to one of the more than 200 former patients he is accused of secretly filming while they were incapacitated and undressed.
Bragg awaits prosecution on roughly 400 criminal charges lodged against him by the state attorney generals office in that county and in Cumberland County. A federal criminal case against Bragg, 41, of Chambersburg, also is ongoing. Bragg was arrested in 2019 after agents raided his home and seized his computer files. The charges faces included scores of counts of invasion of privacy.
Investigators said Bragg, an emergency room nurse, filmed incapacitated patients between January 2016 and April 2019. He is accused of molesting some patients while they were unconscious. Investigators said they also found illegal videos, including some of children using the bathroom, and child pornography during the search of Braggs home.
