Police arrested a 30-year-old Harrisburg man Friday night on charges he sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl.
Fred Thomas was charged in May with two felonies: involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and unlawful contact with minors; and two misdemeanors: indecent assault and corruption of minors. The crimes took place last year in Halifax, PA, according to the affidavit filed against Thomas.
According to the affidavit written by state police: The girl tried to tell her aunt something last July but didn’t because there were other people around. Then a few days later, “out of the blue” she described how Thomas put his genitals in her mouth. The person who overheard the conversation reported it to Children and Youth Services.
Thomas appeared before Judge Barbara Pianka Friday night and was assigned $50,000 cash bail. He remained in prison Saturday with a preliminary hearing set for June 29.
