As with everything, the RWers get their way with force and intimidation. Dems have got to organize not just for elections, but to get the truth out there all the time. I don't know how we do it, but we have to counter RW propaganda in all its forms. People's opinions are formed by seemingly innocent input like tv shows (where the belligerently ignorant racist Archie Bunker is still lovable), and "trustworthy" local new (tainted by Sinclair), etc.

This coup attempt is going to be normalized right soon if things go on as they had before, and as much as I'd like to think something has changed in response, I'm not at all sure it has.
