This Valentines Day, take a bit of advice from a New Kensington couple who will celebrate their 75th year together as husband and wife. Rich and Shirley Rosenberger met in high school and married in secret at their church while Rich was on leave during WWII. Their love story endures.

The lovebirds met in English class at New Kensington High School marrying in secret on Valentines Day about a year later. It was a really big secret for us. I was a senior in high school, and you werent allowed to be married then, she said.
The year was 1945 and Rich was on a short leave from serving as a loader in the Navy.
We were married at the parsonage, and I was 17 and still in high school, the 92-year-old Shirley said, clutching her wedding gown at the couples Aluminum City Terrace townhome.
