but the NM Senate just passed a bill that would prohibit people from open carry in the state capitol building.

One of the sponsors was a Republican, and a few Democrats were against it. I watched it on the legislature webcam. It went on for hours, on a Saturday no less.

Prior to today, I was not aware that anyone could open carry there. One senator insisted that tourists come to NM to see its culture, including open carry, and for that reason open carry should remain an option in the state capitol building.

Gotta love New Mexico!
