Trenton gym teacher who was absent 40 percent of the time loses job [View all]

TRENTON >> Showing up is the most important part of any job.

Apparently, Trenton gym teacher Michele Ansuini did not think so.

The physical education teacher at King Elementary School missed an average of 40 percent of the total days since she was hired by the district in December 2000, according to recent a New Jersey Department of Education (DOE) decision.

“For example, during the 2015-2016 school year (Ansuini) was absent on approximately 68.5 days; 118 days during the 2016-2017 school year; and 25 days during the 2017-2018 school year,” the decision states.
