Do they think these are venomous biting spiders? Some kind of vicious centipedes? Whoever wrote this needs to get out in nature more! Those cicadas are so wonderful and they do so much for the health of the forests and the critters that eat the bugs. Their tunnels can be as long as six feet deep and allow air to get deep into the roots of the trees, allowing better root respiration. The calories they store provide energy for the birds and other animals that eat them, giving them a boost in nutrition.
