1. Not to bag on mom, but any parent with a kid struggling w/opioid addiction should have some naloxone

It's esp. dangerous when addicts first get out of jail or rehab where they were forced to get clean/stay off opioids for a good period of time. A lot of them don't realize just how low their tolerance has dropped (6 months basically returns you to very close to opioid-naive, like you've never taken them), whereas in one's 'using days' many can take 5-10, even 50 times more dope than an opioid-naive person can handle.

Sad story, but all too common.
