8. Along midcoast Maine, we've had little usable snow and lots of ice and wind.

I was out on my snowshoes only three times all winter. On one of our recent "balmy" days, I raked the remainder of the leaves off my gardens, finding hellebores trying to bloom through the ice and 1/8" tips of bulbs poking up. Now, with new snow, they're cursing me for uncovering them. Sorry, guys!
