This is the letter I just sent to my state Senator. I attended a county Democratic Party meeting and [View all]
was extremely disappointed. I will serve as an election judge in November.
Senator,
I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I was on Wednesday night to hear your comments at the McLean County Democratic Party meeting.
I expected an experienced Democratic leader to vigorously
defend our Presidential candidate against the media/pundit slurs and ageism. However, although admitting how successful President Biden has been over the last four years, you joined the chorus. It reminded me of how the Democrats abandoned Jimmy Carter in 1980.
The job of local Democrats should be pointing out the massive accomplishments of our President and getting out the vote. Not calling for a change of candidate after the primaries and within a few months of the election.
You are entitled to your opinion, but I will be seeking a state representative who supports the values of the average voter and rhose of the national party.
