Fall foliage is halfway to peak near D.C. with brightest colors in the mountains. [View all]

West Virginia is at peak colors in the Appalachian mountains, while D.C., Maryland and northern Virginia are slowly changing.

*In the immediate D.C. area, peak foliage is probably two weeks or so away and should be later than average this year.
