I don't know anything about Armstrong, but his death is newsworthy no matter how people felt about him.

I'm glad to hear that Clinton and the Democrats are looking strong in Colorado this year--hopefully the same feeling will extend to some of the states nearby. I'm fairly sure that New Mexico will be blue and still think that Arizona and Utah could vote that way also since blue is on the opposite of the color wheel from orange.
