Jury decides on life in prison after second phase of sentencing
The man convicted of stabbing five people to death in a Denver bar will be sentenced to life in prison after one or more jurors found that the details of Dexter Lewis' life do not warrant a death sentence.
Their decision Thursday afternoon marks the end of the trial.
After 2½ hours of deliberations, the jury of two men and 10 women returned their verdict in the second stage of the sentencing hearing for Lewis.
He was convicted earlier this month of killing five people at Fero's Bar & Grill in October 2012. That verdict launched the case into a three-part sentencing hearing to decide whether Lewis would be sentenced to life in prison or death....
