5. KnR...I saw the Dead in '73, Des Moines, Iowa...

...I agree they were at the height of their performance powers through this period of time.

I went to several Dead shows through the 70s, after that, not again.

I guess I moved on from the Dead because I went into punk rock, with my own punk band (and several others since - punk, psychedelic punk, alternative, experimental, and now indie/americana or whatever). We have a song called "Old MacDonald's Pharmacy" which is sorta Dead inspired.
