Open Mic Thing Yesterday Afternoon [View all]

Good turnout. 7 performers plus the host, and I left with around an hour to go. So, I don't know if more showed up or the recycled.
I was 5th, so I heard 4 before me (not counting the host) and one after.
One if them (woman in her mid 50s who followed me) was really good. Excellent voice, good delivery & pretty good on guitar.
Two others were good, too. Just not as good as the woman I mentioned. Plus, one of them (also a woman) did sings that are not my taste. Harder to judge objectively.
2 were just ok, but nothing to note.
The lady who was going on when I left fancies herself a stand-up comic. I've heard her before and don't think she's funny. Nice, just not funny.
I played just three songs:
Am I Blue by Billie Holiday. I did it in jazz style (26 different chords) with a bossa nova feel.
Sara, Smile by Hall & Oates. For some reason more than half of my falsetto has come back and I couldn't do the song without it.
I Saw The Light by Todd Rundgren. Played it pretty straight, though a little slower. First time I ever played it on guitar! But, I've played in a few hundred times on piano, so pulling it off was no great feat.
Nice bunch of people. They do it monthly.
I might take a piano next time, if I can find my good stand.
