like Logic is perfect as long as you can jump to Logic 10 and it isn't the trash that Logic 9 turned out to be.

You might consider ProTools, at least an entry level version, as it is the king of mastering. With the mic'ing of amps and such, it would work well. What's your hardware interface?

Technology alone is not the only reason, but if you combine the technology, the corporatization, and the unimaginative musician, it is an unholy trifecta.

Yeah, I have been fighting back recently against the compression, loss of fidelity, and loudness wars. I have a little jazz album that I am actually going to get pressed to vinyl here soon which I am mastering back to ADAT. While still in the digital domain, it will have much greater range and dynamics.

I don't have kids, but I do have quite a bit of vinyl.
