They filmed it at the fieldhouse at University of Chicago. They has a stage at each end, so as one band was playing, another was setting up. Next band, everyone just turned around. It was REALLY slickly organized.
They filmed 2 shows, but they only aired one from there. The rest of the footage was used here & there in other episodes.
The one thing that stood out was John Mayall playing his guitar hanging on the RIGHT shoulder. I didn't play guitar yet (just piano), so what would I know, but it looked really uncomfortable & inconvenient.
Now that I've been playing guitar nearly 50 years, I've discovered that it's uncomfortable & inconvenient!
