It sets things apart yet everything is consistent by lighting and intensity. This distinction of objects is something I've seen prominently in the works of Van Gogh and Rousseau, not so much with the Impressionists, and taken to the extreme by the Cubists. Your take on it is very pleasing to the eye.

Yes, I agree. My dad was an artist and preferred oil. It just takes a longer time to dry.
