Thanks for the link! I just looked at Joyce Owens’ work and it left me in awe. Very powerful indeed. I have great admiration for artists who explore human history with passion and stark frankness in their depictions of history that molds a people. She clearly depicts American Black history which has its own unique experiences that could only happened here in our rather short history. I look at her work and see both cause and effect, and endurance and life. And our very dark and messed up foundation as a country.

The one that got me in the heart was the Survivor Spirits. It is so powerful that I know I will never forget it. It now lives in my head. I feel lucky to see Joyce Owens’ work. Thank you so much for the link! I have it bookmarked.
