The thing that happened here was some jerk (Carter) thought it was okay to steal this image and use it to sell his merchandise. What makes people like Carter think this is alright is that most artists don't have the money to go after those who steal their work. You can see this in Carter's smug and thuggish response of seeing the artist in small claims court.

I have a friend who wrote a song a few years back and one day he found it being used to sell gin in another country. He sent this a bill and is still waiting for any word, let alone payment from this corporation. It sucks when you work hard and put a lot of time and sweat over getting a piece to come out just right only to have someone else steal it away.
