It isn't long, just about 100 pages and it deals with some forgotten art: that of music record jackets (if you are old enough to remember those 78s!). In addition to works by artists throughout western art who were inspired by and painted the lute. Artists loved painting it because of its beauty and its lovely sound, before the era of large venue orchestral music (and one with orchestral music, painted by Degas of course!, along with his ballerinas).
