4. I've always painted in oils

I found that I could take a finished painting off the wall and touch it up if there was something I wasn't totally happy with. But I always had to plan the layers: paint the background, let it dry, then keep working forward to the foreground with lots of drying time in between. Gave me plenty of time to think about what went in next. So if there's something about this one you want to fix, you can keep working on it as long as you like.
