Experimenting in watercolor. [View all]

I've always done a watercolor wash over detailed pen/ink drawings, never a true watercolor painting. And I haven't done any for the last 15-20 years. I wanted to share my first 2 tries at getting back into this. The pictures are a wee bit curled since I used wirebound paper rather than a block. Need to tweak the grass picture a bit, and I'm not happy with the sky in the other one. My gradient is not smooth. Not sure how to fix that.

My daughter and I signed up for an art show in April. I thought I'd play around to renew my feel for the medium. These can't go in the art show though, because the goal is to create one piece of art (5x7 or 6x6) per day for the entire month of March. Then show 31 pieces at the show. My title is "Beachcoming: Treasures of the Surf and Shore".
