He was a commercial artist (Norman Rockwell claimed he was one, as well)

I mentioned in that post that he loved Lyendecker's work (Rockwell's predecessor, and perhaps mentor)

What he did on his own were lots of portraits, stylized, of movie stars of the day. (sample, anonymized, sorry Dad)

He did some landscapes and still lifes (lives?) (in oil) -- early on and later, Come to think of it -----
I think his productive years were before and after my brother and I were living there. Go figure. Shy?
