(40,416 posts)30. This one is easy. Stanley Kramer's "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad world"
First, it is utter lunacy, like the Marx Brothers, the Goon Show, or Monty Python. But Kramer takes things well beyond madness. It's like he directed it by screeching, "Not mad enough! More madness! Pile on madness on madness!" It is a film, when I first saw it -- in Cinerama, no less -- that I literally ended up on the floor laughing my ass off.
Second, it has scenes like this! I give you the incredible Jonathan Winters, with Arnold Stang.
This is high art humor.
