Because rock bio-pics are legally required to include a scene in which the film’s rock god smashes his guitar in his dressing room to express his frustrated, tortured genius.

Oliver Stone’s The Doors does not have such a scene, but this was excused because Val Kilmer’s Jim Morrison smashes almost everything else in the movie.
