My Mother's Poems [View all]

As I get older, I didn't want my kides to have go through boxes that have been in the attic after I am gone. After I brought them down and started going through them I was in shock. My Mother had written hundreds of poems. Here is the first one I read.

I rubbed shoulders with a man today
Who had no sight to see him on his way.
But, oh, the things he sees that I don't see
Will make a better man of me.
I hope.

I rubbed shoulders with a sail boy
Who in the battle lost the will to live.
He cannot walk again but
He has so much more of love to give.
I know.

I rubbed shoulders with a child today.
A child whose days a numbered few.
Had I but the powerI would give him ageless years
wish.

The shoulder that we rub today
Will never pass this way again.
Smiles kind words, a little pat
To ease the aches and pains of time we remembered.
Thank you, Lord.

This was writeen by her when she was in good health and didn't know
that these thing wouldhappen to her.
