Live in the Midwest and have a heat pump. Wife used to prefer it at 72-74 but this year she decided she liked it colder which is fine by me. Not sure I could deal with 55F like someone on here mentioned.
While we have a humidifier on the heat exchanger, it's not enough and we usually boil water in the kitchen when it gets below 30F. Otherwise our humidity will drop below 35%. We like to keep it near 50%.

Many times I step outside in the morning when its like 68F and hear air conditioners blasting away at both neighbors'
