I don't disagree about those malevolent actors (China, Russia, etc.). My question is, why is Trump doing this? There is no rhyme or reason to Trump. He is just a malignant bully and he is putting the plans of Project 2025 into effect simply because the plan is being fed to him by the radical right wingers surrounding him. Trump just wants to lord over America and take vengeance on anyone that might have ever disrespected him. His hostility to science, research, and universities may simply arise out of the deep seated insecurities of an ignorant narcissist. He is a moronic tyrant. And probably a useful tool of the Russians, et al.
