They also started ALEC, American Enterprise Institution, and others. Many of the RW lobbying groups (think tanks) are funded through Foundations set up by the extremely rich so that they will continue to operate long after the funders are dead.

Oh, and it is all tax-free, of course. The rich can write off their donations so that the actual expense is footed by the American taxpayer.

Nice gig if you can get it.
