In reply to the discussion: Maxine Waters Says Trump's Actions Warrant 25th Amendment Review [View all]FBaggins

They do not.
The resolution plays no constitutional role in the process. She was just hoping to put some republicans on the record defending him while he was already on the way out the door (note the date?).
The only interesting addition in this case it that it was mere days before he left office... so a four-day pause between removal and returning to power might actually accomplish something.
A four-day pause now has no effect at all.
Once again - onenote was correct that impeachment (which I'll remind you happened the day after this resolution) is easier because it only requires 2/3 of the senate. 25A requires 2/3 of both chambers unless you think Trump wouldn't immediately say that he was fine to continue in office.

Trump could be foaming at the mouth and speaking no words with real meaning and Republicans would do nothing.

Democrats need to keep that issue out there. Pritzker skirted the idea last week. /nt

Lock him up, and down and all around, like the hokey pokey but in the pokey.

It would be easier to remove him through impeachment -- and that's not going to happen either.

I have posted many times about our system of government relying heavily on "the honor system"
