But MORE TO THE POINT:
NO. It is both NECESSARY and MANDATORY for NEW drugs, NEW vaccines, NEW procedures, NEW medical devices to be evaluated when used in or on humans against a placebo control. That is NOT AT ARGUMENT.

What is INVALID and UNETHICAL is to give some individuals a placebo when there is an ESTABLISHED APPROVED Drug or vaccine against which to compare the new or modified one. To do so puts that individual at unwarranted risk since there is treatment or vaccine or instrument or procedure that has been established to prevent harm to that individual. If you cannot understand that very BASIC principle of medical ethics, then I don't know what to say to you. Consider how YOU would feel if a loved one died of a preventable disease for which they COULD have been offered the existing (prior fully studied, shown to be effective, and approved) vaccine, but were, instead, given a placebo--even if that loved one had agreed to participate in a clinical trial. Consider doing some reading and further education.
