I have been saying that for several months now. Trump is wasting time with this effort that parallels Vietnam where talks lingered for 2 years until conditions got ripe for a North Vietnam takeover. What Ukraine needs is better weapons, including better air defenses and longer range weapons capable of inflicting major damage on Moscow. Either Ukraine wins or Ukraine loses. It is that binary.
Russia has yet to release their official comments but what little they have release looks to be a rehash of demands. Below is a link (from Fox News) and it offers little to cause me to change my mind. https://onenews.com/article/C9J6AC9R68RP2DV6C4WKGS32CMS3CRHKCHHK2CHS70SPACSKC9GKMCHG68TJTC1K5MRK681G74X34DST64TKMKJ368?category=News
A later source, with more details. The WSJ article points out that Putin rejected the cease fire offer, basically saying the conditions were not ripe for a cease-fire because Russia is taking territory from Ukraine. I am sure Trump cutting off arms shipments to Ukraine had something to do with this so that silly move simply delayed when a cease-fire could happen. Another sticking point with Russia it the proposal did not address "root causes" for the invasion in the first place. Again, Russia failed to mention what those root causes were. Earlier Putin said it was to denazify Ukraine, even though there was no evidence of nazi activity in Ukraine. What harmful thing will Trump do next?
