17. The disheartening truth of the matter...

... is that such petty, juvenile disrespect is the hallmark of the sick and twisted monstrosity that was once the Republican Party. Common human decency is anathema to these people. They are congenitally incapable of expressing anything but bilious malice toward anyone and anything that does not conform to their narrow-minded and diseased belief system. Trump's obscene rhetoric and flagrant dishonesty gave these people license to fulminate against the stalwart character of a man who devoted his life to honorable service, in stark contrast to those on the Dark Side of American politics, AKA the Republican Party. Their own venom will ultimately destroy them, but how many will suffer and die at their hands before honor is restored, if it ever is?
I'm not holding my breath in anticipation. The GOP is rotten to its core.
