I very much doubt that was the purpose. I expect the point was to genuinely recognize that the J6 Committee did a fantastic job outlining what happened before, during, and after January 6, and as the "leads" for each major party, Thompson and Cheney kept it moving in order to spearhead what has become a historical masterpiece.
