Capitol Insurrection Suspect from Alabama Arrested on Multiple Felonies After Being IDed by Fellow Riot Suspect
On Wednesday, Gregory Lamar Nix, 52, of Cleveland Alabama, was arrested and charged for his participation in the Capitol insurrection on January 6.
Nix is being charged with engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, civil disorder, and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers with a dangerous weapon and other charges.
Video shows that Nix struck a police officer with a flagpole and then threw the pole at the officer, according to court documents. Shortly thereafter, video shows Nix trying to bust windows with a black baton before gaining entrance into the Capitol.
Nix was arrested in Cleveland Alabama and appeared before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama on Wednesday.
