1. What a shame that Jan. 6 will always be associated with tRump's rebellion.

Here are a couple of more pleasant associations (from Wikipedia):
Epiphany and Old Christmas are both celebrated on January 6th, and are related to the celebration of the birth of Christ:
Epiphany
Also known as the Feast of the Three Holy Wise Men, this holiday commemorates the Magi's visit to baby Jesus in Bethlehem. The Greek word epiphaneia means "appearance" or "manifestation".
Old Christmas
Also known as Little Christmas, Green Christmas, or Twelfth Night, this holiday is celebrated by the Amish and Mennonite communities. It is a more solemn celebration than Christmas, with an emphasis on reflection and visiting.
Here are some traditions associated with Old Christmas:
Fasting until noon
A large meal later in the day
Amish employees do not work
Many Amish-staffed businesses are closed
Spending time with family
No gift exchange
The Amish celebrate Old Christmas out of tradition and reverence for their forefathers. The holiday harkens back to the change from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, when Pope Gregory XIII moved Christmas to December 25.
